Types Of Irons For Dress

While buying irons, it is very important to keep in mind the capacity of clothes and the frequency of ironing that is to be done. There is no point in spending money on features and options that are not to be used at all. There are various types of irons in the markets now.

The dry model is the simple and probably the easiest way to iron clothes. This does not require water and simply has to be plugged to the electricity and used after setting the desired temperature.

The spray/steam model is the second type. This gives more efficient ironing than the dry model, as this uses water. As the hot temperature passes through the water in the iron tank, it produces hot steam which escapes from tiny holes given in the base of the iron, and this is used in pressing the clothes.
The steam output can be controlled by choosing the type of fabric that is to be pressed, in the machine. For example, if a pure cotton shirt is to be ironed, then the fabric type can be set to "cotton" in the machine, and so the steam that comes out would be of greater pressure, so as to iron the shirt efficiently. The more the wattage of the iron, the greater would be the steam pressure.

The third type is called the Steam/spray/shot method. In this, the steam that comes out of the holes is shot with high pressure onto the cloth to be ironed. This is more useful in ironing thick clothes as the steam is of greater strength and so can iron thicker clothes better. The fourth type is the steam generator iron that provides a continuous steam flow into the clothes, thus reducing the time to iron and also does a very good job, easily.

The sole bases of the irons also come in various shapes and sizes, makes and models.Four famous base plates are common, the first one being the aluminium model. This is the basic model that easily wears out, over time. The second type is the coated nonstick type, that does not get dirt or anything else stuck on it, hence easy to clean and also effective.

The third type is the Stainless steel type, which is very tough and also gives a smoother finish, thus easing the ironing process and also gets heated fast, thus reducing the time taken to iron. Also ceramic models are available that has a nonstick surface which is also durable and distributes heat evenly all over the plate.

Having so many types and models of irons, it is only easy to make the right decision, at the same time being cost effective as well. Doing a bit of research and diligent thinking can do a lot of good, while buying such electrical products.
